Brand Design: Moonbow Creative Co.

I have been working with Steph and Ben, the lovely folks behind the sticker/stationery biz Postix, to create the visual branding for their next chapter: Moonbow Creative Co. I can say definitively that this is my favorite project EVER!

Moonbow’s mission is to create thoughtfully designed stationery that inspires you to pause, connect, dream, celebrate and have the courage to be yourself. We wanted the new look to reflect these brand values, and we are thrilled to see it go from dream to reality, making its way into the hands of sticker and stationery lovers everywhere!

More Stickers Have Landed!

Right this way folks, for all your silliest sticker needs. Funny Fruits! Little libraries! Wacky wavers! Produce stickers! Balloon Dogs!

These five new designs are available in my etsy shop, along with the original six. My stickers are printed in Colorado on water resistant matte vinyl, so you can stick 'em pretty much anywhere.

Finders Keepers

Early humans, as hunters and gatherers, collected food, tools, and materials for shelter. Since I am a Very Advanced Modern Human, my hunter-gatherer instincts show up as an obsessive drive for collecting delightful nonsense. If that’s not progress, I don’t know what is. I like to joke that I collect collections, but I’m not sure where the joke is exactly, because I do in fact collect…collections. I specialize in items with low or no monetary value - things that could accurately be described as “trash” or “junk” by people without my sophisticated taste in garbage. I don’t remember being much of a collector when I was little, beyond the obligatory Pog and Beanie Baby collection every 90’s kid had. But whenever/however it happened that I was bitten by the collecting bug, it has mushroomed into a substantial part of my personality. Beyond the thrill of the hunt, which never gets old, I also love arranging my collections into pleasing compositions, and sometimes featuring them in my art and creative experiments. Here are just a few of them:

What I’m Reading

This month, I finished seven books, and abandoned five others. I feel no shame or remorse adding to my Did Not Finish (DNF) list, and neither should you. There are too many good books out there to slog through the ones that don't resonate with me. Speaking of the good ones, here are two that topped my list for March. Connect with me on Goodreads to see everything I'm reading, and everything I'm shelving as DNF ;)

SUPERBLOOM

by Nicholas Carr

Thorough, fascinating, alarming but not alarmist, Carr masterfully interprets and explains the effect of technology on our lives, and the paradox that we all intuitively know is true: that our hyper-connected world is driving us further apart. An accessible read overall, but I did keep of list of words to look up while reading this one.

THE ANTIDOTE

by Karen Russell

A Dust Bowl epic about five characters whose fates become entangled after a storm ravages their small Nebraskan town. This one got off to a bit of a slow start for me, but I'm glad I stuck with it. I felt the writing was too good for there not to be a real payoff here, and I was right. Impeccably researched historical fiction with just the right amount of magical realism combine for a memorable, immersive literary experience.
