The 100 Day Project

The 100 Day Project is a global art project that takes place online. Every year, thousands of people all around the world commit to 100 days of creating, sharing their progress on social media. Below are some of my favorite pieces from each year I have participated.

2024: Illustrated Toys + Small Objects

One of my prized possessions is my collection of toys and small objects, organized by color. The 100 Day Project was the perfect opportunity to pay homage to these items I find so charming and captivating, even though they spend most of their time in drawers. I created these illustrations in Procreate, and added hand-painted textures for more depth.

2023: Patterns

Repeating patterns are my first love, and the reason I have a career as an illustrator/surface designer, but it’s hard to find the time to create patterns just for fun. One way to fix that is to commit to making a new one every day for 100 days.

2020: Illustrated Houseplants

I have upwards of 100 houseplants, and during the uncertain, turbulent onset of the COVID19 pandemic, drawing houseplants for 100 days turned out to be a meditative, grounding activity that anchored my routine.

2019: Wall Monsters

I had wanted to do this project for almost three years, but I didn’t feel like I had the right tools or the time to pull it off. Even after I got an iPad Pro and Apple Pencil (exactly the “right tools” I had been dreaming of), the learning curve got in my way and I still didn’t do it. But I couldn’t stop thinking about it, and I couldn’t stop snapping pics of every wall I passed with a splotch or splatter. It was only after I learned about The 100 Day Project (and managed to successfully complete one such project last year) that I felt I had found the perfect framework to bring this ridiculous collection of strange creatures to life.

2018: Abstract Collages

Abstract paper collages.
